ok ..  first of all .. it's been "quite" -- a long time i din care abt my space ..so i feel good actually that i'm updating now!

 

last few days i actually went to POPULAR (bookstore) and came across with one book i really liked and so i bought it..

 

its cover says "never shower in a thunderstorm".. the qns poping up in my head "REALLY?" ..and "WHY?"

 

the answer is YES .. u risk electrocution if u shower during a thunderstorm..  consequences could be as severe as death ! O-O

 

why??? because a bolt of lightning that hits a building- even one that is protected against severe weather- can travel through plumbing, into metal pipe and wirng and SHOCK anyone who comes into contact with a faucet or appliances!!

 

doesn't it sound too bizarre to be true ?? .. to me a big big "YES" ..

 

As i have read part of the book ... there's another fact that really interests me .. it's about "Do right-anded people live longer than lefties?"

 

I'm one of minority in the world who're lefties .. and because i was getting down while reading this ..

 

Lefties who make up 10% of population in the world ,have been slighted from CENTURIES. In Latin, the word left is "sinister", while the word for right is "dexter" related to dexterity. In French, the word for left, gauche, means "clumsy": the word for right. driot, gives us the term "adroit".. it's so unfair to use such bad word "describe" lefties in my opinion..

 

studies have shown that the life span of lefties is about NINE yers less than their right-handed counterparts!

 

possible REASONS are whether it's pressure of living in a world designed for righties and the talk of having shorter life spans. these cause lefties to ahve higher rate of depression,drug abuse , allergies, and schizophrenia.. I absolutely agree with this point as I, being lefties, actually feel very bad when i'd like to join or do sth new and found that it's not meant to left-handed people.. eg. basic thing like knife for peeling fruits last time there's no design for left-handed.. so upset thinking about that.(coz when i was young i like helping mum in the kitchen but always found myself helpless when it came to peeling cucumbers, carrots,etc... my good deed=futile Y-Y) 

 

however it says that lefties have an advantage in sports like fencing, tennis and baseball (i can't play any of them though - -') not to mention greater academic success and higher IQs. (I really felt glad at this point but again "really?" qns poped up) Eg. Five of America's last eleven presidents were LEFTIES, even though they make up only 10% of population!!!

 

so now .. should I feel good (about the advantage) or bad (having shorter life span) ???? - -'
